Belotero treatment is a temporary hyaluronic acid filler designed to treat superficial lines and moderate to severe wrinkles on the face. Belotero gives very natural look and adds subtle volume and plumpness to facial tissue with little to no downtime.
WHERE IS BELOTERO USED?
Belotero is excellent for instantly improving:
According to FDA-labeling the results are expected to last for 6 months or longer. Depending on the individual response and areas treated, results typically last between 3-9 months.
Belotero temporarily adds volume to the skin giving it a smoother appearance. One of its clear benefits is its ability to treat superficial or “fine” lines along the nasolabial folds (the folds or wrinkles that go from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth). Made of hyaluronic acid, Belotero is typically used to plump up any existing skin tissue to help even out the facial creases and replace lost volume under the eyes and along the cheeks. Your healthy facial shape and contour can be restored only with one treatment.
HOW BELOTERO ID DIFFERENT FROM OTHER DERMAL FILLERS?
According to clinical research Belotero can perform at very similar level to comparable fillers, including Juvederm Ultra or Restylane. These fillers have unique characteristics such as their degree of cross-linking, cohesiveness, gel hardness and concentrations of hyaluronic acid. It’s really up to your doctor to choose which fillers are best to address your needs, but in general, Belotero is one of the lightest formulas. Because Belotero is much thinner than many of the other fillers, it can be injected very high up in the skin without the risk of causing bumps, lumps, which happens with thicker fillers. Often, your doctor may suggest to combine two or more dermal filler brands for optimal facial rejuvenation.
WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF BELOTERO TREATMENTS?
Side effects from Belotero injection are similar to any other temporary filler. You may experience symptoms such as swelling, discomfort, bruising, and tenderness in the area of injection Avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements prior to injection can decrease the chance of side effects associated with the treatment.
Belotero injections are performed with a very small needle, similar to that which we use for Botox injections. Belotero does not come with the lidocaine (numbing agents) incorporated into the filler itself, however a topical numbing is often applied to make Belotero injections easy and comfortable for all patients. Belotero treatment takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes from start to finish.
WHEN I WILL SEE THE RESULTS OF BELOTERO TREATMENT?
Most of the patients can see the results from Belotero almost immediately. The longevity of Belotero is the same as all hyaluronic acid based fillers and varies from person to person. You can expect your results to last anywhere from 3 to 9 months.
If you are interested in improving the appearance of your skin, eliminate, smooth fine wrinkles and facial lines that appear naturally through the aging process, you may be a perfect candidate for the Belotero treatment. Unfortunately, patients with active skin conditions, pimples, rashes, cysts, cold sores, and hives should not undergo this treatment until their conditions have completely cleared up.
