Dr. Nguyen completed residency and advanced fellowship training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Michael Nguyen was one of the most respected Fellows at Harvard and received the prestigious “Fellow of the Year” award during his final year of training.
Upon completion of his training, Dr. Nguyen joined the Harvard faculty where his accolades included “Outstanding Teacher of the Year″ and “Mentor of the Year.” During his time at Harvard, Dr. Nguyen developed a clinical interest in venous disease. Dr. Nguyen was instrumental in introducing endovenous vein treatments to the Pain Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Nguyen has published about vein disease in the medical literature, including a textbook on minimally invasive treatments for chronic venous insufficiency. Dr. Nguyen’s work has been featured on television and print.
Dr. Nguyen believes in being innovative and staying on the cutting edge of medicine. At Harvard, Dr. Nguyen led a team of PhD candidates in developing a patented ultrasound guidance system that was subsequently selected for a prize by the Harvard School of Engineering.

Dr. Khimani strives to improve quality of life and functional goals for patients. She accomplishes it with comprehensive, evidence-based care. Her concentration is on minimally invasive treatments for chronic venous insufficiency, and acute and chronic pain conditions.
Dr. Khimani’s career path included:
- Graduation from Columbia University with Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors.
- Medical degree from Harvard Medical School, where she was awarded a grant for cancer research.
- Residency at Columbia University Medical Center – New York Presbyterian Hospital. There she served as Chief Resident for the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
- Advanced fellowship training at Harvard Medical School’s teaching facility, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, for interventional pain management. Here Dr. Khimani nurtured a special interest in vein disease.
She has had articles published, co-authored portions of textbooks, and presented at numerous national conferences on pain medicine and anesthesiology topics.
Dr. Khimani was recently awarded first prize by the National Cancer Pain Research Consortium for innovative research on refractory cancer related pain, conducted during her time at Harvard.

She attended medical school at New York University School of Medicine. Residency was completed at New York Presbyterian Hospital’s prestigious Weill Cornell Medical Center. She obtained advanced fellowship training through the prominent Tri-Institutional Pain Medicine program.
Dr. So received instruction and rotation at three nationally recognized hospitals:

- Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute
- Hospital for Special Surgery
